SESSION I : MANAGEMENT OF CHAOS


PROBLEM STATEMENT

The environment of organisations be it internal or external has become more and more complex and subject to a number of abrupt and unexpected events. Accostumed to operating in a stable environment, many organisations are today in a state of circumscribed instability, also called Chaos and are regularly taken aback by events. But Chaos, constantly creates new opportunities and new threats.

This seminar is aimed at answering the following questions :

· Why Managers need to know the theories of chaos ?
· How to take account of uncertainty and rapidly provide a solution in a conjectural environment
· What measures may Managers take to regularly maintain expected equilibrium ?
· How can managers propel their enterprises by taking advantage of the opportunities of chaos in their sector ?
· What is the mode of management adapted to the complexity of modern
enterprises ?

Managing Chaos is therefore one of the major stakes of the management of organisations of the 21st century.

SESSION II : HOW TO IMPROVE ON THE RELATIONSHIP BOSS - SUBORDINATE


PROBLEM STATEMENT

Whatever the function occupied in an organisation, we are always envelopped in a number of relations encountering daily many individuals with varied personalities. As a consequence, a number of questions usually come o mind among which are :

· Who is my boss, collaborator, or subordinate ?
· What is his character ? Is he easy or difficult to go by ?
· How to harmoniously work with him. What qualities does he more or less appreciate ?
· How to handle difficult moments .
· How to give orders. How to execute orders.

The three fundamental preoccupations of AGESFO in conceiving this seminar include :

- How to effectively deal with a boss
- How to ably direct subordinate
- How to work with difficult persons.

OBJECTIVE OF THE TRAINING (Sessions I and II)

- Assist Managers reflect on the complexity of enterprises of the 21st Century.
- Endow Managers with tools of the management of Chaos to permit them confront complexity and uncertainty.
- Permit Managers acquire or increase the capacity of sychronisation in the management expected and unforseen events.

- Understand the evolution of the place and role of human resources in the management of present organisations.

- Understand the general functioning constraints and modes of a hierarchical superior.

· Elaboration of clear and common visions
· Choice and measure of essential parameters
· Prospective Dash-Board
- Redefining and simplying main instruments of control
· Evaluation of performance
· Fixing objectives
· Defining functions, coaching
- Decentralisation of Power and Decision
· Information system : Sharing information and the training for its use
· Delegation and financial autonomy
· Decentralised strategic planning
- Establishing financial objectives and budgetary forecast
· System of financial control
· Budgetary forecast

BOSS - SUBORDINATE

Module 1 : How to ably direct subordinates

- Modification of hierarchical relationship and Notion of Orders (Command)
- What is a Subordinate ? What is a hierarchical inferior ?
- Models of Subordination and their mode of management
- What type of Subordinate am I ?
- Conflicts of Subordination and their management

Module 2 : How to effectively deal with a hierarchical superior

- What is a hierarchical superior ?
- Mechanisms and means of Power of the hierarchical superior
- Some types of hierarchical superior and their mode of management
- What hierarchical superior am I ? What are my management capacities ?

Module 3 : Management of the interaction Boss - Subordinate

- Fundamental modalities of interaction
- Management of affection or how to develop one's emotional intelligence
- Instituting the control of others and oneself in professional situations (Information and communication, team work, meetings and interviews, decision taking).

METHODOLOGY

The trainers are consultants in organisation development and management with a long experience in the counselling of enterprises and organisations for develoment. They use organisation development instruments and active methods (analysis of real situations in groups, play of role, self diagnosis, restitution, exchanges at plenary, input of trainers, retroprojector …) in animating.
